Lead Sails Paper Anchor is the fourth studio album by Atreyu.This is Atreyu's first album with hollywood records.The band has largely abandoned their screamed verse,sung chorus metalcore template.The lyrics are totally about a real world where romances fail,friends betray and self-reliance is the greatest of attributes.The vocals are almost all melodic now,with just a few hardcore yells.

Lead Sails Paper Anchor is diverse,but almost too much so.Atreyu explores metal,pop,rock,hardcore,eighties metal,and even country.I dont blame a band for trying new things but some things just dont work.There are some really good songs in the album,but a lot of filter and failed experiments.Few of the good songs are "blow" which features " Josh Todd" from "Buckcherry","Becoming the Bull","Honor","fallin Down" & "two becomes one".One of the huge failures is the cover of faith No More's "epic" which sounds like a bad karaoke.Now theyve tried all these genre's,hopefully the next album will be more focussed and they will concentrate on the things they do best.
