Phobia finds Breaking Benjamin picking up exactly where they left off with 2004's "We Are Not Alone" mixing heavy hard rock with a moody demeanor that never slips into full-on dejection, thanks in part to their proficient grasp of accessible melody and ever rousing chorus.Darkness permeates Phobia's tracks, but the quartet always remembers the silver lining hanging in its cloudy skies.Songs like "Until the End" exhibit this resilient attitude, while affirming that life can be tough,"Why give up?Why give in?....I will go on until the end".Breaking Benjamin mix dense upfront vocals with dense riffing("The diary of Jane","Topless").
As often is the case, certain tracks work out much better than the others as in "Dance With the Devil" and "Unknown Soldier".The songs "Until the End","Diary of Jane" and "Breath"stayed in the charts for a very long time and there's no reason why the shouldn't have.Breaking Benjamin have proved a point to all their critics with this album.Phobia can win over any skeptic who is holding out on the band. For all those who are happily settled in the Benjamin camp this is another good listen.
