Seether-Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces

In the past, Seether has always struck me as a band struggling to find its own identity and sound. But after giving Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces a few spins, I've realized that this post-grunge outfit is really using their influences to craft an ever-changing body of work.Ive read some piece of junk like shaun morgan is trying to emulate chad kroeger but i seriously dont see what the problem is.After all the vocalist is just trying new things just to make his music sound better and to get better sounds from his instrument. Lyrically, the songs are tormented and bitter. One can only as speculate the meaning of the songs as morgan as morgan seldom discusses it.But what really matters is that this is a musically sound album. The album as a whole is redeemed with great tracks like 'fake it','like suicide','breakdown' and '6 gun quota'.The band has proven that they are more versatile songsmith's than I previously thought.
